We're using OpenFoam on simulating domestic bathroom faucets, in particular waterfall models and I'd like to know whether our results can be trustable.
Our intention is to use the sims to forecast the way water is going to behave in order to obtain a nice and comfortable outlet of water. In the two enclosed video you can find two of our sims. A little note, one of them contains a nude model. Maybe it's better not to open in a crowded office. To reduce computation time, both of them have been run without any turbolence model (but it will be included). My question is: is there any one with any experience in this field. Everyone knows how a sim could reduce production time avoiding the sample production / test routine steps... but I'd like to have a real confirmation. http://www.box.com/s/04aaa47c662e79bbe51e http://www.box.com/s/c44ea6fa56a8a0a89329 <--- nude I'm sorry whether my question seems a little weird. Thanks anyway,

Hi Daniele,
Indeed your question is not very clear, but if I understand correctly you are wondering how to validate your simulation results?! I am far from an expert in your field, but I can imagine that there is tons of experimental research on all kinds of faucets. If you could first `rebuild' an experimentally used faucet and verify your simulations, then you can have some faith that your simulations for the designed faucet are also correct. Hope this helps, Michiel |
