Hey all,

I am trying to simulation shaken devices in biotechnology, and therefore, it would be great to calculate a power input. For stirred devices, we simply use the force and moment at the shaft and stirrer, which correlates very well to measurements.

Now, we have an shake flask: https://drive.switch.ch/index.php/s/uApxYGS4eZBXjX8
Variations are the speed of shaking, the shaking amplitude and the volume (here 30 mL).

For some reason, the viscous and pressure moment at the rotating axis are with different sign, pressure is negative, viscous is positive. Sometime, both are positive, both are negative - at different shaking speed and/or amplitude...

Surface distribution looks good, fluid velocity is correct (or at least makes sense)...

Does anybody have a good hint for me? What is going wrong here?

Thanks, Sören
