Steady state cavitation solver ?

Hello and a lovely evening to everyone :-)!

Its been a very long time since I have actively posted here, though I have dutifully been following up on everything on a daily basis :-)!

Recently I was looking at solving a problem using cavitation, more for getting to know cavitation in OpenFOAM in greater detail....

I used "rasCavitatingFoam" and everything seems to be working quite fine.... my question however is.... is there any reason why there is no steady state solver for cavitation? Something like a modified version of simpleFoam adapted to include the cavitation effects?

Is it because it is not correct from the physics / mathematics side.... in that... say... something like you cannot have "steady state cavitation", or is it just that no one has found the need for one so far?

Have a nice evening!

hello phillpose,

you´ve said that you have no problems with the rasCav.-solver. Actually i´m facing serious trouble with it. Did you adopted the settings (fvsolution, fvschemes) to get it run? If so, what did you do? Which kind of mesh do you use?

Hope you can get me hint.

Thanks in advance.
