Wall roughness

Hello
I’m simulating a mine tunnel where the walls are very rough (0.55 m rough in a 6 m Dia. tunnel). In CFX I just set up wall roughness under the K-epsilon model in the wall boundary condition. However I want to run a comparison in Openfoam but I don’t know how to setup such a roughness? I’m using simpleFoam for this simulation.
Any help?
Thanks, Nestor

Wall Roughness

Hi Nestor,

I think this link can help you: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho...eWallRoughness

In this case the roughness would be constant for every wall. If you wanted to have a different roughness for each wall I think you should add the roughness as a boundary condition.
I hope it is helpful,
Xabi

Hi Xabi
Thanks for your answer. I have another question: how can I set up the wall roughness as a boundary condition?
Regards.
Nestor
