hello friends
im new to openFoam and im going to simulate pitching and plunging 2d airfoil. i used the wing motion tut to start and changed the dynamicDict to inverseDistance and defined celldisplacement for the airfoil as solidbody. for low pitch angles every thing is ok but at high angles it has problem with mesh at the leading and trailing edge of airfoil.
is it possible to select a region so that only that points movesT like sixdof?
or what should i do so add or remove points
or any other idea
im using of4x
thanks everybody

Bloerb will become famous soon enough
You could try the overset solvers / immersed boundaries in of1712 or foam-extend. Your mesh can naturally only be deformed to a certain degree. You might be able to increase your odds by switchting the mesh motion solver, but again only to a certain degree.

thanks for reply...
I used overset solver (overPimpleDyMFoam) in of 1712. the U results seems to be good but p is unstable and i think that is not true. for example p suddenly increases to a high value and then back
what can i do to solve it?
thanks

Dear Hamid, did you finally solve your problem?

I've seen cases that used rotating and sliding mesh, and they've defined a domain in their mesh which moves and rotates with the airfoil profile, so that the malformed mesh cells occur far from the airfoil surface, and onto more coarse cells.(Similar to RBF, Radial Basis Function, refer to "Jasak, H., & Tukovi'c. (2010). Dynamic Mesh Handling in OpenFOAM Applied to Fluid-Structure Interaction Simulations.")

It would look something like the attached picture.
