Hello,
I've got a vtk file of the empty space within a pneumatic valve. Is it possible to read this file into OpenFOAM to generate a mesh of it? And is there any tutorial how to simulate the flow of air through this valve? My problems are very basic: I don't know how to set one part of the model as input of the air and the other as output. And I also don't know how to set the parameters like the pressure. I looked for many tutorials but I can't find one that will help me to solve my problem. Can you tell me where I can find a tutorial or if it's possible how to make this simulation, please? Regards, Matthias |

1)read your vtkfile and convert it with vtkSTLWriter => write a small vtkconverterprogramm
2)study snappyhex http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...ppyHexMesh.pdf =>from that, you have your valvegeom. for the cfd calculation 3) apply boundary condtion etc long way to ;-) |

read more about snappyhexmesh in the usersguide chapter 5.4
but what changes have to be made in the dictionary file for internal flows in don't know go to http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...snappyhexmesh/ when you have written your converter maybe mevislab http://www.mevislab.de/ is helpful for you to speedup conversion |
