MRFSimpleFoam strange velocities

1 Attachment(s)
Hi

I'm doing some openwater propeller calculations and I'm using MRFSimpleFOAM.

What I've done is to create a 1/4cylinder, cyclic boundaries on the sides and used cellSet and setsToZones -noFlipMap to contain the propeller.

The proplem is when solving I see strange velocities at the interface between the MRFzone and the non-MRFzone, see attached picture.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?

The checkMesh shows everything as being ok.

Best regards

I've found that you need a smooth surface where the MRFzone cuts the mesh.

If that is done all is well.
