Use of k omega turbulence model

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone has encountered any difficulties using the k omega turbulence model within OF 1.6? I have been running a few simple simulations with the incompressible PisoFOAM solver that work very well with the k epsilon and k omega SST turbulence models. However, my solution diverges after a few time steps when I use the k omega turbulence model, even when I use exactly the same initial values (including k and omega) as with the k omega SST turbulence model. The simulation is simply an internal flow through a duct.

Thanks, John

Hi,

If you are running a transient simulation, try decreasing the time step. If it is steady state, decrease the relaxation factor.

Which formula are you using to calculate omega at the boundaries?

Best Regards,

My advise is to check CFL condition, fvSolutions, fvSchemes, and esp. the boundary conditions.
