Outlet vent

Hi everyone,

I am using simpleFoam to simulate air discharching through big nozzles into the atmosphere. It is a pretty straight forward problem and my results agree with the ones from CFX which I use for comparrison.

I have never done a problem like this and at the moment I am using a static outlet boundary pressure and velocity inlet. Is there a boundary condition like the "outlet vent" boundary condition you get in FLUENT in openFOAM?

I would like to implement some 'k' factors at the nozzle outlet to account for extra pressure losses caused by the fitting and nozzle exit.

The problem is steady, incompressible and turbulent.

Many thanks
Karl

Hello,
After 11 years, I am also looking for this similar boundary conditions. Did you find any thing about this ?
Thanks
Anthony
