Hello everyone,

I have a grid, attached below which has a moving wall on the bottom, as in an impeller producing rotating velocity into the core region described by the grid. It's the part MOVINGWALL and is blue coloured in the picture below.

To implement this, I created a patch at the bottom layer of the grid, about the middle part and gave it a BC in OpenFOAM as rotatingWallVelocity in the 0/U file. The omega value I'm using is 5. And in the 0/p file I have told it to be zeroGradient along the same patch.

I'm using simpleFoam solver with laminar flow definition in the RAS properties file.

When I run the simulation even at a low omega value, I have mass flow across the rotating wall. Basically it is defying mass conservation.

I need to know if it's a problem with the way I've defined the problem or something in defining the Boundary Conditions. Also I'm running it as an axi-symmetric case, I dont know if this could cause any problems.

Also any alternatives to running the simulation would be more than welcome.

Thank you!
