Temperature dropping off

Hey all,

I'm trying to learn how OpenFOAM deals with heat transfer and so am just practicing simple problems right now. I am simulating a simple heated plate in air using buoyantPisoFoam (I know that is the compressible solver but I heard elsewhere that buoyantBoussinesqPisoFoam was buggy so I just ignored that). My atmosphere is initally at 300K and my heated plate at a constant 400K. What happens is that after about 1s of simulation time has elapsed the temperature above the plate drops down to about 220K for some reason. I have attached some pictures to try and show the progression. The simulation time is 5seconds. Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks!

Anybody have an idea about this?

Thanks
