Besmellah,

Hi all,

I want to simulate the mass transfer of an immiscible liquid rising drop in a column of organic solution. Is there any body who know which model of openfoam can I use to simulate the phenomenone?

Regards

Besmellah,

Dear Nimasam,

Sorry. There was a mistake in problem description.
An organic drop rises in a solution of water+acid (20% acid dissolved in water) and absorb the acid inside.
I want to simulate the mass transfer with open_foam.

I am waiting your response.

Regards,

Salman

hi dear salman
look at solver description here :
http://openfoam.com/features/standard-solvers.php

however im not sure whether i understand you or not ? is ur model there phase or two phase? is it mixture or not ? is it immiscible or not ?

as i know none of two phase flow solvers in multiphase flow solver consider phaseChange except interPhaseChangeFoam which is considering phase change based on cavitation but for solving a two immiscible liquids system u can use interFoam as a main solver and add ur mass transfer equations in it

Dear Salman
Hello
I am in agree with Nimasam. You can use interFoam as a main solver and add your mass transfer equations in it.
Good luck

Hi Salman,

I am also trying to do the similar problem. In my case toluene drop is rising in stagnant water medium.

How far did you manage to with your problem?

Hey there,

Have you guys managed to implement the mass transfer equations in InterFoam ? I am stuck with the same problem right now, if anybody could help me out that would be really nice !

Sincerely,
Santhosh
