Linear Elasticity

Hello,

i dont know where exactly i should put this thread, so i have started it here.

I want to solve a linear elasticity problem in 2D and 3D using openFOAM. The structure is given by a levelset function, i.e. negative sign means material, positiv sign means no material, and zero value on the boundary.
the levelset function is defined on a rectangular box.

I am new to openFOAM, so these are my questions:

how can i create a (structured) mesh for the structure, given the level set function on a rectangular grid?

can i use the ersatz material approach, i.e. material with less density ( ~factor 10e-03) is filled in the gaps?

greetings, and thanks
