nonnewtonian fluid, effective viscosity

Dear Commutiy,

i need to simulate a nonnewtonian fluid to compare it with the simulation of a newtonian fluid.

Does anyone has an idea, how i get the effective viscosity of the nonnewtonian one, to implement it in the newtonian? I know the function, which specifies the nonnewtonian character, calculated from the strain rate!

Thank you very much in forecast
