About simple algorithm in simpleFoam

Dear all,

I found that the algorithm in simpleFoam is exactly the same as described in section 7.3.4 in Peric's textbook. In detail it corresponds to Eq.(7.30) (7.34) and (7.35).

The simpleFoam algorithm is different from the typical SIMPLE algorithm introduced later in the same section. The typical SIMPLE algorithm neglects one term in solving the pressure Poisson equation. This assumption leads to the introduce the under-relaxation of pressure correction.

But usually we still use the pressure under-relaxation for simpleFoam. I think this can be an interesting topic. I hope I can learn some expertise opinion here.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
