Greetings foamers,

I try to simulate a water-air bubble column like the becker test-case (Becker et al. 1999: flat bubble column, single gas-sparger in the centre of the bottom)

The mesh is easily built using blockMesh. I attached a screenshot of the mesh.

The solver I use is twoPhaseEulerFoam.

My questions are:

Which dragModels are recommended for gas bubble - water eulerian simulation?

Are there any changes that have to be made when starting from one of the tutorial cases?

The standard drag model used for that test cases by many authors in the literature is Schiller-Neumann, and the drag phase is the dispersed one (air). OpenFOAM defaults to the "blended" model, which is more stable when phase separation occurs.
