The floatingObject tutorial case for interDyMFoam simulates a box floating around in somewhat of a wave tank. It might be a relevant case setup to look at to get your bearings.

as we wanted it to be i don't think so.. the settings for dynamic mesh have to be dependent on the response of the FSI interaction, i,e, they are dependent on the simulation itself.

maybe you could force the mesh to follow a certain path until first contact with the water then let gravity alone act on the movement of the airplane... but i don't think this is right..

maybe some1 with more xp could correct me
