very fragile mesh motion on SnappyHexMesh generated mesh

Hello,
i am trying to simulate the motion of a boat under the hydrodynamic forces, at the moment just sink & trim DoF, using a mesh generated by SnappyHexMesh (no prism layers).

As motion solver I am using laplaceFaceDecomposition with quadratic inverse distance motion diffusivity.

After a very small motion (less than 1 degree rotation and small sink), the mesh becomes invalid. I have some negative volume cells, inverse pyramids, etc etc...

Is it my fault somehow, or are the SHM meshes too "fragile" to be moved by laplace-based motion solvers?

What is your experience with moving SHM meshes ?

Thanks,
matteo
