NACA 0012 Verification

I have used the mesh from https://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/naca0012_grids.html. I have used the command plot3dToFoam to convert the p2dfmt of 896X512 points to Foam Mesh. I am using SA method, I am getting negative Cd values. the min y+ value is 0.007.

Hi isaac1326,

I saw that you changed the velocity vector direction to simulate the angle of attack. Once you did that, you have also to change the direction of the vector in which the OF calculates de lift (liftDir) and drag (dragDir). By definition, the lift vector is perpendicular to the free stream velocity and the drag is parallel to the same vector.

Also, might try to reduce your residuals (and increase you endTime if you do so).

You could create the mesh yourself using: https://sourceforge.net/projects/construct2d/

To change the AOA (angle of attack) it's usually easier to rotate the mesh using OpenFOAMs rotateMesh
