Hi!

I wanted to simulate solar radiations on bifacial solar panel in openFoam. I used solar load model in radiation properties and defined diffuseSolarRad in solar load model. The user guide of solar load model says: "The first reflected fluxes can be optionally included. A view factors method is needed in order to include diffusive surface to surface fluxes." I am confused that do I need to include viewfactor modeling in order to accomodate reflected flux on back side of bifacial solar panel? Viewfactor model requires qr as a boundary condition as input while qr is the parameter I want to calculate through solar ray tracing. Please guide me.

Thanks!

HI,B_R_Khan
Whether you use the viewfactor modeling,I think it depends on your model.
You can analysis it on the meaning of viewfactor.

I need to integrate diffuse solar irradiance plus the reflected irradiance from ground that is reaching the panel. Is view factor required for this problem or will solar load model be enough?
