Soheyl is on a distinguished road
I'm trying to model the flow between two objects that are passing each other. In the figure, the two squares move horizontally towards each other and then continue on their way. I want mesh layers to be added behind the moving blocks, so I believe this would be a dynamic mesh case with changing topology. Is it possible to model this using OF 2.1.1, and if so, is there any tutorials that I can use? I've gone through the pimpleDymFoam tutorials, but I believe there is not any tutorial with topology change.

Greetings Soheyl,

For interDyMFoam you can find this very nice looking one: "multiphase/interDyMFoam/ras/damBreakWithObstacle"
Although the problem here is that it uses local refinement based on the interface field...

Best regards,
Bruno

mturcios777 will become famous soon enough
Layer addition removal works in 1.6-ext, you can try the movingCone tutorial in $FOAM_TUTORIALS/incompressible/icoDyMFoam/movingConeTopo. If you want these two objects passing each other, you will need some kind of interface between their "tracks". Have a look at this report:

http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...jerklundE3.pdf

You can't really separate dynamic meshes and programming in OpenFOAM, so good luck!
