Dear foamers,

using buoyantPimpleFoam I'd like to simulate a free-surface.

Is this possibile? Which are the right conditions to be imposed in the 0 folder for p, p_rgh, T and u?

Thanks a lot for help,

Samuele

Hi Samuele

Have you considered looking at the solver interFoam, which is designed for free surface flows?

Kind regards,

Niels

I had a look, but it seems that it allows me to solve isothermal flows, only.

What I wanna do is to take into account temperature, also.

Any idea?

Hi Samuele,

I have not been working with temperature fields in interFoam, but I have over the years seen several threads on the topic, so searching the Forum could be a good place to start.

I you what a sharp interface, I believe that interFoam is the best place to start.

Kind regards,

Niels

Hi Samuele,

you can add the temperature equation to interFoam by yourself.
Take a look to these threads:

Good luck,

Andrea
