Low-Reynolds Wall Funtion OF
Hi OpenFOAMers,
I am having a little trouble getting my head around how I can correctly implement the 'low Reynolds wall function' found in openFOAM. I already have a pretty good grasp of y+ and the distances for high Reynolds flows (y+=30) or when the flow is low Reynolds then the boundary layer is completely resolved (y+=<1). Also keeping in mind the turbulence model used has its own criteria. My question is this, If I have a low Reynolds flow where I would normally resolve the boundary layer and NOT use wall functions how does this low Reynolds wall function work (LowReWallFunction)? Also what y+ value would it require? :confused: After reading this I feel I was getting closer (link below) but still not sure. Is there any journals that would cover this sort of question?
