Varying the angle of flow in Openfoam

Hello,

I am using Openfoam and trying to analyse the forces on a ship hull at varying drift angles by keeping the hull stationary and altering the direction of the flow. How would I go about changing the angle of flow? Is it something to do with my inlet boundary condition?

Hi,

Yes, if you change the direction of flow in the inlet it should work. But you also need to make sure you outlet is adapted in a similar fashion. You may want to use the freestream and freestreampressure boundary conditions. But their exact functionality may depend on what version you are using.
