How to start: modeling tufts in airflow

Hi fellow fluid dynamicists,

I'm a student at TU Berin. For my thesis I got the suggestion to model a tuft in the airflow of a gas turbine combustor. So one end of this tuft is fixed to a certain point and the rest of it can move freely due to the forces of the flow.

Till now I only used OpenFOAM in one class to model multiphase flows, never rigid (but flexible) objects like a tuft.

Which solver is best for this task? Perhaps you know some examples or OpenFOAM tutorials I could start from.

I'm thankfull for all help I can get.
