Test for buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam solver

Hi, guys.
I'm studying on buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam solver.
My question is, what case I can use to make a test for this solver, to make sure my setup and simulation are corrrect?
Any cases or papers suggest?
Cheers.

I think that the problem of the natural convection flow in a square cavity is a standard
benchmark test case for the buoyant flow solver using the boussinesq approximation.

In this test case, you can only compare the converged solutions to the steady state.

Hope this helps,
Fumiya

Thank you, Nozaki, they are very useful to me.
Thanks again!

Hi, Nozaki.

I used buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam solver to do the same simulation as in <Natural convection flow in a square cavity revised>.

When I turn off the turbulence in RASProperties, the results have good agreements with those in paper. However, when I turned on the turbulence, it seems nothing chaged in results, and have obvious difference with results in the paper.

Really confused....

Same question, do you have non-neutral cases that I can compare my results with?
Many thanks!

Hi,
How did you turn off your RAS model, I do it by change RASModel to laminar and turbulence to off in contanst/RASProperties.
I am using PimpleFoam to do DNS simulation, I am also very interested in the validation of PimpleFoam, especially using "laminar" option.
Regards.

when the turbulence model is turned off, the results are very good, nearly exactly same, but, when turbulence model is switched on, results changed very little, too much difference with the results in the paper...
