haakon will become famous soon enough
Exactly what are you asking for? Are you interested in setting an initial condition? Or are you perhaps interested in creating a specific velocity profile as boundary condition? In the first case you should look at a tool called funkySetFields, and in the latter a library called groovyBC. Try to do a search on Google or this forum, there are lots of examples out there.

hi
thank you for answering me..

well i want to create a specific velocity profile, for example how the velocity vary from bottom to top..
in fluent to do this i needed to write a small program.
but in openfoam am lost. also my solver that i use is pisofoam..

If you are simulating atmospheric boundary flows you can use atmBoundaryLayerInletVelocity for your inlet patch. see tutorials/incompressible/simpleFoam/turbineSiting for more details.
