Beginner: questions about mixerVesselAMI2D blockmesh
 

Hey all.

I'm still quite new to OpenFOAM and CFD in general.
I'm looking at the constant/polyMesh/blockMeshDict.m4 in the incompressible/pimpleDyMFoam/mixerVesselAMI2D tutorial, and where the vertices are defined (lines 315-438) they appear to be duplicated with different names in several places.
Is this required for the AMI to function? If so, could you outline why?

Modifying the non-AMI region
 

How would I go about defining the non-AMI (stator) region as a square, so that I can model the mixer with an inflow / outflow?
As I understand it, the AMI region and non-AMI region must be perfectly lined up - I'm unsure how I would maintain the interface between the circular AMI and a non-circular outer mesh.
