Questions about LTSInterFoam

Hi all,

i am playing a bit with LTSInterFoam. The idea is to simulate the steady state movement of a meniscus in different capillary tubes and compare the solution with the unsteady one.
As a starting point i had a look at wigleyHull tutorial in which everything seems to work fine.
Then i took the capillary rise tutorial of interFoam and i tried to get a steady state solution with LTSinterfoam, using the same BC. I played with many different combination of schemes and solvers with no success: or the solution diverges (alpha explodes, continuity errors explode) or the solution is physically not correct. When the meniscus reaches the equilibrium configuration i think a steady state solution should exist, so where i am doing wrong?
Are there any limitations using this solver?
Is the presence of capillary pressure that might generate problems (in wigleyHull tut, sigma is set to zero)?

thanks

andrea

Problem solved?

Dear Andrea,

have you ever managed to solve this issue? I also try to get a steady state meniscus but the simulation explodes always.

Really appreciate your feedback.
All the best,
Axel
