High resolution image with parafoam
Hi all,

i am trying to save high resolution images of my simulation with parafoam but it looks much more complicated than what it should be or maybe i am just missing something.
When i use "save screenshoot" with the default resolution suggested by parafoam everything works fine. Problem rises if i try, for istance, to double the resolution (double pixels each directions). The created image is not really the original one with double resolution but it seems that parafoam just extends the borders, adding more "background" to the image, and making the part of interests smaller.
So what i am missing here? Is it possibile to save high resolution image with parafoam? and if yes, how?

What version of paraview do you use? Just tested saving large screenshots with 4.0.1 and it does it right.

i am using paraview 3.12.0 which is included in the last avaible version of openFoam.

I don't think that was possible in Paraview 3.12. I strongly recommend upgrading to Paraview 4.x, a lot of things have improved. Just download a binary from and use the built-in openfoam loader; you will have it running in two minutes.

ill try to update it. Are you saying that it is not necessary to re-compile ThirdParty?

Unless you absolutely insist on running paraFoam / the OpenCFD plugin instead of what is already built into paraview natively, no, you do not have to recompile ThirdParty.
