Hi everybody,

I am kinda new to openFOAM, and I have a lot of questions.

I thought it would be appropriate to ask them here.

I don't understand why there is no Steady state solvers for transient solvers with mixing/miscible fluids in OpenFOAM.

Is it not logical to make such a solver?

Hi Filankes,

Could you clarify a bit what you mean with "steady state solvers" for "transient solvers"?

(Not sure if this is what you mean: ) In principle every transient solver could be used as a steady state solver by setting the ddt-schemes in fvSchemes to steadyState. But it should be noted that "an application designed for transient problems will not necessarily run as steady-state and visa versa" as mentioned at http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/fvSchemes.php

Cheers,

L
