hi,
I am new to OpenFOAM. I want to develop steady state multi species non reactive model. How to go about it?

Do I need to modify the simpleFoam code to introduce the species equation? If yes, how to do it? Correct me, if I am wrong.

Is there any otherway to do this?

Hello,

I guess it would be easier the way round. Start with reactingFoam and switch off the chemistry source terms. Then you can make it a steady state solver. Maybe buoyantSimpleFoam is also a good start because it already deals with temperature.

Regards Markus.

I will try your suggestions. I will get back to you if I face any difficulty. Have a good day!!!

Thanks

Hi Hrushi,

Were you able to implement a steady state solver steady state multi species non reactive model. I am working on the same thing and was using the Particle-tracking LTSReactingParcelFoam with everything turned off, but my pressure was blowing up. I also used porousExplicitSourceReactingParcelFoam transient solver, but my rho and temperature was not changing. I was thinking if a combustion solver will be better with the reaction turned off.

Regards Kiyya

Hi Hrushi,

As per the previous question from Kiyya,

Where you able to development and implement reactingFoam as a steady state solver?

In addition to switching off chemistry (chemistryProperties) and combustion (combustionProperties) what other steps must be taken in order to adapt the reactingFoam solver into a steadyState solver?

Kind regards,

James
