Can openFoam solve for UV water treatment
Does openFoam has radiation model capability that include such as yes/no on: fluid absorption, wall reflection, transparent media refraction. scattering, Lagrangian particle irradiance parameter available, etc. Such a m model could be Discrete Ordinate (DO) Radiation or Monte Carlo Radiation Model. Please answer (yes or No) individual on each capability.

Anyone who could reply to this question?

Quick answer - since nobody managed to find the time to search this kind of information for you, here's what I know:

Hi Wyldckat, The OpenFoam description of the capabilities and models are very poor. Example are many but in particular with the DO Radiation model, there is a fvDOM module however it does not say how transparent media is treated by the model (media absorption, refraction, reflection at walls, etc), Similar with their modeling capabilities - just a model name in few words with no description details. ( still :) ),

Greetings Tchavdarov,
If you've managed to identify which files are missing these details, then please report it as a bug here: http://www.openfoam.org/bugs/ - and please provide the list of the files that are missing said descriptions. Best regards, Bruno |
No , I am sorry. I had in mind that in the page with the description of the features: http://www.openfoam.org/features/ there should be more details about the capabilities, features and various modeling options. That will save time digging in the code to find out about the same.

It looks like no one knows for sure what radiation models (for heat-transfer applications) are available with OpenFOAM (?)
|
Maybe I'm a little late, but available radiation models can be seen at "$FOAM_SRC/thermophysicalModels/radiationModels/radiationModel". Further descriptions of each model can be found at "$FOAM_SRC/thermophysicalModels/radiationModels/radiationModel/<model_i>/<model_i.H>".
Hope it helps, Alex |
