hi foamers !
for my master thesis I want to simulate a 2D cylinder that can rotate about
one axis and translate in 2 direction, this motion couse by fluid motion in other word the motion isnt known before simulation, for this I use pimpleDyMFoam in of 2.3!
but becaue of large deformation of mesh the motion of cylinder cannot bacome complete and after some iteration the solution diverge
I think I must utilize some feature such as add/remove layer in my case but
my ploblem is when I set my case I use sixDoFRigidBodyMotionCoeffs in my dynamicMeshDict and as I know this mesh solver is fixed topology.
***
can any body help me to know how I can use mesh refinement (add/remove layer) in sixdofrigidbodymotion mesh solver?

thanks

your explanations are not sufficient. your cylinder can rotate about z axis and translate in x and y directions ? is there any resistant force in x direction which oppose to cylinder motion ? if not your cylinder tend to permanent motion in x direction and this is not a physical or good numerical problem
