Antoniorp is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,

I have a problem with parallel runs in openfoam.

After launching decomposePar, I entered the command "mpirun -np 8 ihFoam -parallel" for ihfoam is the solver i am using. Everything went without problem but after, when i try to reconstruct by launching reconstructPar i get this error:

Time = 7.3

Reconstructing FV fields

Reconstructing volScalarFields

p

--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR:
error in IOstream "/home/antonio/IHFOAM/IHFOAM_materials/tutorials/OF222/Klopman_monocromatico/Novo_Kepsilon/processor3/7.3/p" for operation operator>>(Istream&, List<T>&) : reading entry

FOAM exiting

I already tried doing it again and i get the same kind of mistake but for a different time. And when i do it without being in parallel run i get no problem at all!

Can someone tell me what is going on here?

Thanks,

António

Greetings António,

A few questions:
  1. Can you provide a simple test case that reproduces this problem?
  2. How are you stopping the simulation? Are you letting the solver stop on its own, or are you using Ctrl+C or did it crash?
  3. What output did the solver at on that time snapshot? I ask this because it's possible you could have reached a situation where the fields have NaN values.
Best regards,
Bruno
