Hi guys, im fairly new in OpenFOAM. i used to work with ANSYS FLUENT AND CFX with basic knowledge on them. but i would like to learn more about OF and try it out.
Im currently running windows 10, got the installation running smooth, but one thing that confuses me is that where do i see the files in my windows directory? i dont understand how they actually copy the files from VM and it will show up in the common username directory? Plus the new windows OF doesn't run with VM but through docker and OpenFOAM_Start. i have a snapshot of the OF terminal. i managed to load the tutorial cavity case file, get the blockMesh, checkMesh, and icoFoam. but to edit and post process them, what are the steps? i've been trying to figure it out for 2 solid days. no results... would appreciate any help from all of you kind OpenFOAMers. below is a snapshot of my progress so far till icoFoam regards, Jun Last edited by JX-; October 24, 2016 at 08:14. Hi,
You can create a dummy file called case.foam in your case folder. Open Paraview, and navigate to your case folder and open case.foam. You should be able to view your simulation results there. Cheers, Antimony |

Hi,
The case folder is the one that contains your time sub-folders, the 'constant' sub-folder and the 'system' sub-folder. It is the location from which you called your blockMesh, checkMesh and icoFoam commands... Cheers, Antimony |
