Cyclic Pipe Using Mapped Boundary Condition

Hi,

I am doing an LES simulation with Smagorinsky model for a cyclic 2D pipe using Mapped boundary condition. So it simply maps back the outlet on the inlet plane. The Reynolds number is 10000 and I am expecting to get turbulent velocity profiles after some time steps. However, after 200 time steps the velocity profile tends to become parabolic (as if it is laminar) and also the fluctuations disappear. Can someone please explain what the problem is? is it because the pipe is 2D?

Thanks
