decomposePar number of processors issue

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

I have got my simulation running fine using the 16 processors that the solver I am using was initially writing for. However, I am trying to update the solver to use 32 processors. So far I have changed the Allrun, run_mpi and decomposeparDict files to include the new figure of 32 but when I try to run a simulation that was working, I now get the error file attached below! I have looked all through my directory for things to change but feel I have done everything.

The solver uses the scotch decompose method just for convenience so I don't think I need to touch that at all. If someone might be able to throw me over some suggestions it'd be much appreciated!

Did you run decomposePar (after you changed the settings in decomposeParDict)?

Hi jherb,

Yes I did. It seems to be functioning some of the times but not others! Regardless though, they all the simulations I run seem to start at the last time step of my previous simulation (40285 rather than 0) even when I have removed the postProcessing folder and all other files relating to the previous runs! My controlDict is set to run from firstTime etc. Very confusing.

This is a complete shot in the dark, but: Have you checked that all your cluster node (I assume you use a cluster if you use 32 processes) see the same file system and it is working correctly? Can you log into the nodes with ssh and check this?
