Hi!

I am getting ready to run a series of unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes simulations on OpenFOAM.

My first simulation is laminar and the others are turbulent (with SST or k-epsilon turbulence closure).

As I read in the user guide, pisoFoam is a transient solver for incompressible turbulent flow using PISO algorithm. I am worried that I will face issues when I run my simulation as laminar using pisoFoam.

Can I run a laminar simulation using pisoFoam? If another solver is recommended for the laminar case (i.e. icoFoam), what are the major changes that I have to implement in my setup?

Cheers

Yes, you can run laminar cases just fine with pisoFoam.
