I appreciate if experienced users can provide me with following information:

I need to develop a code with specific application for a company. The company does not care how I do it, but I must supply them with a an underlying code that produces correct results as well as a GUI to interact with.

The second part is not a problem. But the first part can be quite time consuming if I code everything from scratch. Is it possible to use Open Foam as the underlying engine, or Open Foam needs special license for commercial usage?

Openfoam is under the GPL licence. You may use it for commercial application. If you write some code form scratch you may sell it. But you have to give your customer the right sharing the remaining code / programs freely.

If you modify existing code you have to let the result under GPL licence. As far as I understand you are not allowed to sell this piece of code. You may bill for the adaption work of course, but don't check any licence fees.
