icoFoam not running until end time

I'm new to OpenFOAM and I'm running my first simulation (not tutorial).
So in the controlDict file I've specified a startTime = 0, endTime = 0.5, and deltaT = 0.005. The solver starts up and runs a few time steps and stops. What would be causing this to happen? I have since run the simulation with parallel processing, this is what I'm getting.

This Co number is way too large. You have to reduce your time step.
