Hello,

When I run the simulation on my own computer it is slow but working. The problem is that it seems to take 15 days. I usually using cluster and run it in parallel but this time I had the error below. Is anyone know how to solve it?

Best Regards,
Yasemin

MPI_ABORT was invoked on rank 22 in communicator MPI_COMM_WORLD
with errorcode 1.

NOTE: invoking MPI_ABORT causes Open MPI to kill all MPI processes.
You may or may not see output from other processes, depending on
exactly when Open MPI kills them.

This is the mpi output which unfortunately doesn't tell you anything about the error. Is there are openfoam output?

When does this error appear? Does OF launch and then does some calculations or does it crash at the start?

Slow is better than not working.

Hi Lucky Tran,

Yes, problem is not in paralel run but in the version diffrences, I guess. Running is better but I need 72 simulation in total may take 3 years to finish all.

Here is the error:

Quote:
FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Unknown function type volRegion

Valid functions are :

6
(
patchProbes
probes
psiReactionThermoMoleFractions
rhoReactionThermoMoleFractions
sets
surfaces
)

From function static Foam::autoPtr<Foam::functionObject> Foam::functionObject::New(const Foam::word&, const Foam::Time&, const Foam::dictionary&)
in file db/functionObjects/functionObject/functionObject.C at line 85.

FOAM exiting

I am using OpenFOAM 4.1 and cluster's is v1606. Do you have any advice?

Thank you in advance,
Yasemin

Hey there,

It seems you are using an invalid type in your function object. You may try to turn the function object off and try again. If it runs without any issue, well... you need to correct your function object.

Hi einstein_zee,

Accually, it is working in my local computer which is Openfoam-4.1 but not in cluster(v1606) that I am using for running in paralel.

Thank you,
Yasemin
