Hello,
I am making a 2D airfoil simulation using SIMPLEfOAM AND PIMPLEFOAM AND at the moment i am following the wing motion tutorial . i have created the Geometry and mesh using Gambit and then imported it to OpenFoam and Also I am using the same Turbulence Model KOmegaSST like in the Wing Motion tutorial. When i run my simulation for AOA=0Degree Using simpleFoam the Solution Converges Very Well . but When i use the same mesh and the same boundary conditions with Pimple Foam the Solution is Instable and guives Horrible values . even when i made adjustable timestep and limiting Courant Number to 0.9 the solution is still instable . Can you Please Tell me Whats the Problem with this .!! |

Hello Losiola,
please provide your controlDict settings as a basis for feedback. Please have a look at this example: https://www.hpc.ntnu.no/display/hpc/...l+Calculations At first, the authors solve the case with simpleFoam and copy the resulting fields to their pimpleFoam case setup using mapFields which can improve the stability during the first few pimpleFoam iterations. Also, compare deltaT with the example setup, I assume yours is higher. Klaus |
