How can I understand Openfoam coding?

I can't understand how directories(0,mex,system) are created during execution of various commands? Is it required to create separate "File" every time a new program is created or there are built in functions which asks for just one or two line commands runs the entire simulation or we need to generate whole entire code to run the process.

Take a look here

I have made this course look at its content maybe it will help you:

But in general the answer to your question is these files aren't created every time they are recalled. we just recall parameters from them. and all you would need to do is run the solver you are using you don't have to make any "Files"
