foamF is on a distinguished road
I just did a simulation of hydraulic jump (2D case) to compare two turbulence models: RANS based kOmegaSST and DES based kOmegaSSTDDES. The simulation result is put in: https://youtu.be/52YP5D38pfc

Same grids and same boundary conditions in both cases.

The 2D case is physically incorrect to simulate turbulence which is 3D in nature, but it still offers some clues on turbulence modelling.

The location of the hydraulic jump predicted by the kOmegaSST model is much farther from the inlet than that of kOmegaSSTDDES. Can someone here explain the locations of the hydraulic jump predicted by both turbulence models?
