Modelling dust particles in air
Hi everyone!
I am very new on OpenFOAM. I would like to model dust deposition on a surface (lets say PV panel). I saw that there is a variety of models that adress multiphase modelling. Is openFoam capable of doing that? What type of models : euler / lagrangian ? and solvers? Is it easy to model with a particle size distribution? and last if there is some references with similar projects on Openfoam, it would be great ! Thank you :) |
you can use multiphaseEulerFoam.
multiple disperse phases with individual corn sizes for each phase. with the lagrange approach, you won't be able to simulate volume fraction > 10 %. there is the limitation. |
You can simulate it quite well using the MP-PIC which is an Eulerian-Lagrangian approach. There is no limitation in this approach with respect to solids ratio. I believe it's better approach than an EulerFoam solver for your case, especially for the particle size distribution.
