OpenFOAM vs other codes?

Hello openFOAM community!
I am new to openFOAM. I used to used Gerris (10 years ago) and my former colleagues in Paris now use Basilisk (its successor). I believe both codes are Volume Finite (?), what would say the big differences are between the two codes (Basilisks and OpenFOAM). I aim to study systems with non-Newtonian rheology and in some cases two-phase systems with Marangoni and dissolution processes. What would be the most appropriate and easy to use?
Thank you for your advice and clemency in asking this question.
