Ldusolvers in stable release

This quote from the preceding thread raised some question

"The situation with the split between OpenCFD version and Hrvoje -dev version does not improve things, and it is a priority the two involved parts should really address soon, finding a way to cooperate, because, like it or not, it is the only way to go for a successful plan. Put in other words, the two parts need each other work."

I wondered when the following elements are planned to packaged in the next release of OpenFOAM:

class coupledFvScalarMatrix
library ldusolvers

I know it is annoying to be asked those question, but I really hoped ldusolvers would make it into 1.5

The situation is not as trivial as you perceive, and it is definitely not hot-headedness on my side that is causing trouble. The solution for the problem is basically OpenFOAM-Extend and parallel releases since it has proven impossible to achieve any sort of cooperation from OpenCFD with the open source development effort.

May I suggest you pose this question directly to Mr. Weller in Berlin next week - I will certainly try to do so.

But open source doesn't mean a wikipedia development model, where various participants add/remove/change things.

At the moment, I try to participate in two other open source projects -- GridEngine (SUN) and ParaView (KitWare) -- in the form of bug-fixes, RFEs etc. Some of my ideas/changes are accepted, some rejected, some modified and some just keep waiting. In the end it is the developers at SUN and KitWare who decide where it is all going. I don't see why it should be any different here.

I thought the development was done in the svn, then trimmed to only fully tested features and packaged by OpenCFD. I did not realized it was a much more independent than that.

So I guess OpenCFD development is done in the git repository.

Mr Weller, if you read this thread, do you think the two features mentionned above will make their way anytime soon in the stable release
