Dear OpenFOAM community,
As you are probably aware, the OpenFOAM Workshops have grown remarkably during their first three years, and we hope these events represent a valuable element for the OpenFOAM community of users. Due to the size of this activity, and to reflect the needs of OpenFOAM users, there is a need for a Committee to discuss how the workshop should be developed, and to make important strategic decisions concerning future workshops. Therefore a Committee was recently formed, drawn from the organizations involved in the first three workshops. The Committee currently consists of the following people, organizations and countries: Håkan Nilsson, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden Maryse Page, Hydro Quebec, Canada Andrew Jackson, ICON, Great Britain Gavin Tabor, The University of Exeter, Great Britain Bernhard Gschaider, ICE Strömungsforschung GmbH, Austria Zeljko Tukovic, University of Zagreb, Croatia Hrvoje Jasak, Wikki Ltd, Great Britain Gianluca Montenegro, Politecnico di Milano, Italy Alojz Ivankovic, University College Dublin, Ireland Eric Paterson, The Pennsylvania State University, USA The Committee had a first telephone meeting September 10. The most important decision was that the fourth OpenFOAM workshop (2009) will be in Montreal, hosted by Hydro Quebec and Ecole Polytechinque Montreal. Maryse Page, Hydro Quebec, will get back with more details. You can reach the committee directly by sending an e-mail to: committee(at)openfoamworkshop.org Best regards, The OpenFOAM Workshop Committee |
