<original> Abuse of the OpenFOAM download facility. Some users (including some members of this discussion forum) have been repeatedly downloading (>10 times per day) OpenFOAM from the download site. This uses up bandwidth making it costly and slowing legitimate downloads. The system is being monitored and those who abuse the system have had and will continue to have their IP addresses blocked to prevent further abuse. </original> Concerning the download bandwidth: A solution would be, to "outsource" the file downloading to another server. One option would be sourceforge.net. The provide the "infrastructure" for OpenSource-projects: among other things (CVS-server, Webserver etc) file downloading. One side-effect would be, that this would raise the "visibility" of this fine project to the outside world. |
